The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County.

Mike Fox, Multimedia Design Specialist / Internet & Media Services (IMS), was nominated by Director Andrea Willis. Mr. Fox designs and develops engaging multimedia projects that include animations, video, audio, and graphics. His technical and artistic skills, combined with his dedicated attitude, make him an invaluable member of the IMS team. He identifies technical and artistic solutions to create user-friendly and effective multimedia projects. His exemplary work can be seen and heard on various websites including USA Learns, TEACH California, and the California Career Resource Network. Mr. Fox's thousands of professionally-recorded audio files and animations have made a powerful contribution to SCOE and the education profession. People across the nation and around the world have enriched their lives because of his work. Mr. Fox has been employed by the Sacramento County Office of Education since 2007.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Tracy Powers, Program Specialist, Special Education Department, was nominated by Principal Carmen Walker. Ms. Powers provides support to staff, students and families for court and community schools, emotionally disturbed (ED) program sites, and severely handicapped (SH) program sites. She is committed to ongoing collaboration regarding student placement and needs in the Youth Detention Facility, including supporting teachers and special education technicians. Ms. Powers facilitates district referrals and serves as a liaison between parents and school districts when serving in her capacity at ED and SH program sites. She demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm for serving the SCOE student population. Ms. Powers is a true advocate for special needs students and will go above and beyond to assist in students' success. Ms. Powers has been employed by the Sacramento County Office of Education since 2006.
