The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. Classified Employee of the Month
Yolanda Adams, Transition Specialist at North Area Community School, was nominated by Principal Lisa Alcalá for her contributions to the Court and Community Schools Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Yolanda Adams is a transition specialist at North Area Community School. She primarily works with expelled youth in grades 7-12. Ms. Adams' assists students with their academics by working with them in the classroom or by taking students out of the classroom to provide them one-on-one or small group assistance. She helps students create resumes and apply for jobs. Ms. Adams is dedicated to making the school environment work for the student. She builds great relationships with students and has an amazing sense of humor. Ms. Adams has been a Sacramento County Office of Education employee since 2010.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Jayme Heal, Teacher at Folsom Middle School CARE, was nominated by Principal Chris Aland for her contributions to the Alternative Education Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Ms. Heal teaches Math, English, and a curriculum support class for 22 students in eighth grade who need extra support. She is phenomenal when it comes to building relationships with students. Ms. Heal makes sure she knows every student's story and passion in life to help motivate them in the classroom. Her classroom walls are rich with student work and engaging bulletin boards. Ms. Heal takes the time to work with each family, helping them navigate the school process each day. She is very engaged with the Folsom Middle School staff to be a team player on their campus. Ms. Heal has been a Sacramento County Office of Education employee since 2018.
