The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.
Classified Employees of the Month Team
Diane Faulks and Maria Mojarro, Para-Educators, Markofer Elementary School were nominated by Principal Randy Olson for their contributions to the overall success of the program serving students with moderate to severe disabilities operated by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE). Ms. Faulks and Ms. Mojarro work tirelessly in the classroom day in and day out. They are able to not only assist with the delivery of instruction, but are very effective with behavior management, recognizing and addressing student medical needs, and understanding each students' unique form of communication. Ms. Faulks and Ms. Mojarro gracefully assist substitute teachers when the need arises to keep the flow of daily routine with minimal interruption for the students. Ms. Faulks has been a SCOE employee since July 2000. Ms. Mojarro has been a SCOE employee since 2002.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Abby Williams, a Teacher at Markofer Elementary School, was nominated by Principal Randy Olson for her contributions to the Special Education Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Ms. Williams demonstrates the flexibility and professionalism essential to run a successful special education program. She is currently spending time out of her classroom to support SCOE classes that don't yet have a permanent teacher. Ms. Williams has applied to be a teacher in charge (TIC) with assigned duties to support new teachers, and the Special Education administrative team. Ms. Williams has been a SCOE employee since 2015.
