Board Recognizes November 2022 Employees of the Month

Johanna Gorski and Ayah Abdulrazzaq

November 2022 Certificated Employee of the Month Johanna Gorski and November 2022 Classified Employee of the Month Ayah Abdulrazzaq were recognized by the County Board of Education.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Ayah Abdulrazzaq, Staff Secretary for the Prevention and Early Intervention Department, was nominated by Coordinator Joelle Orrock for her contributions to the Sacramento County Office of Education. Abdulrazzaq learned the duties of her position quickly, even the complex state prevention data system that requires daily entering and ensuring accuracy. Becoming the department expert on this system has been challenging, yet Ayah stayed the course and learned the system. PEI staff serve up to ten school sites throughout Sacramento County on a weekly basis, requiring materials, printing, and support on an ongoing basis. Ayah meets those demands and consistently reaches out to staff to see how she can assist in other ways. Ayah Abdulrazzaq has been a SCOE employee since 2021.

Certificated Employee of the Month

Johanna Gorski, a Language, Speech, and Hearing Therapist, was nominated by Principal Guy Holman. Gorski is extremely knowledgeable within her discipline and shares her expertise with classroom teams to help improve the communication skills of students. She is creative and innovative, thinking outside the box to give students multiple avenues to build their vocabulary and to give them a voice. Gorski is an expert with technology and goes the extra mile to help support families and students with programming devices, downloading apps, and teaching the intricacies of various communication systems. It is obvious that she loves her work and celebrates the gains and progress students make in their expressive communication. Johanna Gorski has been a SCOE employee since 1992.
