The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Sis Hendrix, Administrative Assistant/Court and Community Schools, was nominated by Director Marc Nigel for her contributions to the Sacramento County Office of Education. Hendrix supports SCOE's Court Schools, Community Schools, and CARE (Community Action for Responsive Education) programs in all areas of operation, including providing clerical aid, scheduling, budget entry and monitoring, and communications. She has an amazing positive attitude and always has a smile on her face. Hendrix sees the big picture as well as the intricate details of her team's work and is an excellent problem solver. Her efficiency and reliability have allowed more SCOE students to be served. Sis Hendrix has been a SCOE employee since March 2021. 

Certificated Employee of the Month

Edith West, Vision Specialist, was nominated by Area Principal Guy Holman for her contributions to the Special Education Department. As a teacher of the visually impaired, West works diligently to ensure students have the resources and support needed to engage in their classroom activities and access their curriculum. She readily shares her knowledge and experience with classroom teams and families in a professional and friendly manner. Through the IEP process, West is thorough in her report writing and in helping families understand their child's vision diagnosis, as well as how it will impact their learning, while also suggesting supports and strategies for mediating the challenges and empowering the student. West goes the extra mile in every aspect of her position and has been an invaluable addition to the SCOE Vision Team. Edith West has been a SCOE employee since August 2021.
