The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.
Classified Employee of the Month
Jessie Heidrich, Staff Secretary with the Special Education Department was nominated by Area Principal, Randy Olson. Jessie just celebrated her one-year anniversary with SCOE in early March. Since joining SCOE, Jessie has volunteered to do as much as she can to support SCOE’s Special Education Department and Seeds of Partnership. Jessie provides incredible support to her team by consistently checking in to see about the needs of individuals and the program as a whole. Jessie supports our Foundations school nursing team as well as our pre-k programs. She ensures both teams receive the supplies, trainings, and planning time they need to be effective.
Jessie will also offer support to other staff secretaries if there is a need or if someone needs coverage for an extended absence. Ryan Robins with Seeds of Partnership highlighted Jessie’s willingness to help whenever needed. Jessie Heidrich has been a SCOE employee since March 2022.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Eziuche Okemiri, Resource Specialist with the Special Education Department, was nominated by Community Schools Principal Lisa Alcalá. Dr. Eziuche Okemiri is the Resource Specialist for Community Schools. Dr. O, as he is known to students and staff, works with students who receive special education services. He helps them set both long-term and short-term goals, as well as providing scaffolding to help students be successful in the classroom. Dr. O also works with our families, ensuring that parents and guardians are aware of all the tools that are available to them as the family of a special needs child. He communicates clearly and often, helping families navigate a system that is sometimes confusing. As a colleague, Dr. O is always willing to help wherever he is needed. With a bright smile and friendly demeanor, Dr. O helps to create an inclusive community within our schools. Eziuche Okemiri has been a SCOE employee since March 2008.
