Marina Diosdado-Corral and Jessie Storrs

October 2023 Classified Employee of the Month Marina Diosdado-Corral and Certificated Employee of the Month Jessie Storrs were recognized by the County Board of Education.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Marina Diosdado-Corral, Financial Analyst with Financial Services, was nominated by the Director of Financial Services, Ivan Myrick for her contributions to the Special Education, SELPA, and Financial Services Departments. Despite only joining SCOE in May of 2022, Marina is not afraid to jump into a complicated project and figure out how to complete the project accurately and efficiently. During our current staffing shortage Marina has stepped in to fill the gaps to support the Special Education department with financial and budgetary assistance whenever possible. Michael Kast says, “Marina is an important and integral behind the scenes support person for students with disabilities and we couldn’t provide the great services we do without her.” Marina Diosdado-Corral has been a SCOE employee since May 2022.

Certificated Employee of the Month

Jessie Storrs, Teacher, El Centro Jr./Sr. High School, was nominated by Principal, Barbara Modlin.  El Centro Jr./Sr. High School is lucky to have our Library Media Teacher, Jessie Storrs, or “Ms. Stories” as the students call her. She is committed to providing a rich library experience for our students and makes the library a fun and interactive destination spot, and a place where students may forget where they are for the time they are in the library. She is responsible for managing arts, media, and entertainment, overseeing tech and CAASPP, aiding 21st-century teaching, and is our site representative in ShiftEd. Ms. Storrs is creative, highly collaborative, and a HUGE asset to our team.  Jessie Storrs has been a SCOE employee since July 2021.
