The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.
Classified Employee of the Month
Annemarie Kennedy, Program Analyst with Curriculum and Instruction was nominated by Multilingual Education Director, Graciela Garcia-Torres. She shared how Kennedy has gone above and beyond as a program analyst, surpassing expectations and achieving remarkable results when supporting the Curriculum and Instruction Team. Kennedy demonstrates a can-do attitude in all tasks. She is quick at lending a hand and taking the initiative to support others. Her efforts play a crucial role in the success of the customer service we provide in serving multilingual learners. Her communication skills provide constant messaging to all participants, and her contributions have made a meaningful difference in supporting continuing to reach the goal of professional development services. Kennedy is an asset to Team SCOE for her continued growth mindset, support across departments, providing excellence to our LEAs, and representing SCOE's vision and mission. She is recognized and applauded for her extraordinary efforts that go beyond the norm, making a lasting and positive impact across systems. Annemarie Kennedy has been a SCOE employee since 2022.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Shannon Casey, School Nurse at Dry Creek Elementary was nominated by Area Principal Jillian Friend. Casey is a SCOE school nurse providing support to both students and staff in the Foundations Academy programs. Friend says, "Shannon has been with SCOE for the last two years and from the beginning has proven to be an extremely hard worker, the epitome of a team player, and demonstrates leadership qualities that are constantly refining our nursing practices. She collaborates with her colleagues and teaching staff to ensure that we are providing the best nursing support to our students and meeting their unique needs. Shannon also has an extremely positive and unhesitating attitude. When short-staffed for one reason or another, Shannon has stepped up to support other programs despite having an already full plate. She is always willing to help when needed and is a leader amongst our nursing staff. She has repeatedly demonstrated her organization and technological skills to support the nursing team to streamline procedures and processes. Grateful to have Shannon on the nursing team, she supports students, families, and staff!" Shannon Casey has been a SCOE employee since 2022.
