Board Recognizes September 2024 Employees of the Month

September 2024 Classified Employee of the Month Gerald Dumaguing and Certificated Employee of the Month Rebekah Branaman were recognized by the County Board of Education. 

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Gerald Dumaguing, Audio/Visual (AV) Support Specialist with Computer, Network, and Telecommunications Support (CNTS), was nominated by Executive Director Jerry Jones, and Director Andrew Brooks. In addition to his daily A/V support duties, Gerald regularly supports high-profile events, both at SCOE locations and in public. Gerald's unwavering commitment to success, proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond ensure the events he supports are executed flawlessly and reflect well on our organization. Gerald has a positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and routinely assists other employees and departments when needed. He is an invaluable asset to CNTS and SCOE. Gerald Dumaguing has been a SCOE employee since 2023. 

Certificated Employee of the Month

Rebekah Branaman, Language, Speech, and Hearing Specialist with Special Education, was nominated by Area Principal Guy Holman. Rebekah has been a wonderful addition to the Foundations Academy Speech Team, supporting students and their communication needs across multiple programs. She is very personable and has quickly built positive and collaborative relationships with classroom teams and families, as well as other Speech Team colleagues. Rebekah strives to ensure that all students on her caseload have the appropriate technology to allow for more independent communication, providing training on specific speech devices to both staff and families, which allows for continuity across environments for greater student success. Rebekah demonstrates strong skills in designing learning experiences that are developmentally and age-appropriate for the students. She is able to connect with students on a personal level, building trust that helps the students to share and use their “voice.” Rebekah is a team player and has had a positive impact on students. Rebekah Branaman has been a SCOE employee since 2023.
