The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.
Classified Employee of the Month
Kayci Bath, a Senior Personnel Technician in the Personnel department, was nominated by Chief Administrator of Human Resources, Darrien Slider-Johnson. Since joining SCOE, Bath advanced from Personnel Technician to Senior Personnel Technician within just four months. She is always willing to help her colleagues, ask insightful questions, and understand the reasoning behind decisions. As a Senior Personnel Technician, she has been instrumental in hiring and onboarding more than 40 new Career Pipeline employees—including Family and Community Health System Navigators, Associate School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Clinicians, School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Clinicians, and School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Clinicians II—to support SCOE's effort to transform each school in Sacramento County into a Center of Wellness. Bath also plays a pivotal role in supporting the Exempt Temporary Employee workgroup and takes a proactive approach to solving problems, ensuring continuous support of SCOE programs. Kayci Bath has been a SCOE employee since 2023.
Certificated Employee of the Month
Lisa Saenz, an Alternative Education Teacher for the CARE program, was nominated by Director Marc Nigel. Saenz is an exceptional teacher who consistently strives to improve her practices for the benefit of her students. Recently, she visited her former students at Cordova High School to ensure they are receiving the support they need to succeed. Additionally, she initiated "Family Fridays", where parents can join their children for lunch in the CARE class, which fosters a sense of community. Saenz often reaches out to discuss ways to motivate her students, whether through pizza parties or other rewards to encourage school attendance and goal achievement. Her professionalism, work ethic, and positive spirit truly elevate our team, making us all better for having her on staff. Lisa Saenz has been a SCOE employee since 2017.
