The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. Parul Sheth, an Accounting Technician with the Financial Services Department, was nominated by Associate Superintendent Nick Schweizer and Manager Hong Yamamoto for her outstanding performance and commitment to excellence. Parul consistently pays attention to details and maintains a high standard of accuracy in her work from verifying and processing invoices against purchase orders, reconciling discrepancies, to maintaining and auditing financial documents. Her proactive approach to communication with staff and vendors has increased efficiency, ensuring timely payments to vendors and building professional relationships with the vendors. Parul is a meticulous organizer. She confirms that purchase orders and contracts are properly documented and financial records are filed to ensure consistency, compliance, and traceability. Parul plays a significant role in Accounts Payable, and she is also an exceptional collaborator who is always ready to support the team whenever is is needed. Her contributions are instrumental in enhancing the operations and reputation of the Financial Services Department, making her a key asset to the organization. Suzanne White, affectionately known as Fern, is a Teacher at Sly Park Environmental Education Center and was nominated by Director II Jeremy Meyers. Suzanne brings a lifelong love for nature and learning to her role. From leading kayaking adventures in Alaska to sparking curiosity in the classroom, she seamlessly blends outdoor expertise with a passion for education. Her enthusiasm for environmental studies and language makes her a dynamic and engaging educator, inspiring students to explore and appreciate the natural world. Beyond teaching, Suzanne has taken on leadership responsibilities to enhance Sly Park's programs. She plays a key role in maintaining the center's online presence, ensuring it reflects the high-quality education offered. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom into the community, where her involvement has helped Sly Park earn an award of distinction.
