Board Recognizes October 2025 Employees of the Month

October 2025 Classified Employee of the Month Sam Tosi and Certificated Employee of the Month Ben Hoffman were recognized by the County Board of Education.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 780 regular and more than 815 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round, providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Sam Tosi, Technology Support/Trainer in the Computer, Network, and Telecommunication Support (CNTS) Department, was nominated by Executive Director Jerry Jones and Director Andrew Brooks in recognition of his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication. Since joining SCOE in 2022, Sam has consistently gone above and beyond to provide exceptional support and training to staff. His work has been especially impactful at El Centro, where he has played a vital role in implementing meaningful technology improvements that have enhanced the staff and student experience. Sam is known for his friendly and approachable demeanor, his quick and effective problem-solving, and his ability to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues. Sam’s positivity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence make him a valued member of the CNTS team and a true asset to SCOE.

Ben Hoffman, a teacher for Students with Extensive Support Needs in Special Education, has been a SCOE teacher since 2022 and, from the outset, has proven to be an extremely diligent and exceptional educator. He has an exceptionally positive attitude and works well with students, staff, and families. He has worked in the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) and Sheldon High School programs, enriching each with innovative teaching strategies and a strong culture of inclusion. He is quick to offer help when needed and is a leader on the Alt Pathway Steering Committee. Ben is eager to try new things and strives to find new opportunities that address the whole child. He prioritizes wellness, and can be seen leading meditations and including positive affirmations during morning groups for his students.
