Business Services
The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) Business Services Division consists of two units: District Fiscal Services and Financial Services.
The District Fiscal Services unit provides for mandated and non-mandated fiscal accountability functions. Assistance to Sacramento County school districts concerning their fiscal solvency and accountability includes advisory services in fiscal oversight, revenue and apportionment calculations, review of audit findings, budget projections and preparation, attendance accounting and reporting, preparing financial reports, auditing for commercial warrant processing, fund control, and cash reconciliation services.
The Financial Services unit provides internal financial operations for SCOE. Activities include directing the annual budgeting cycle, preparing the budget and revisions, assisting with the development of policies and regulations, and fiscal support to all programs. Management of the various funds includes pre-auditing and payment of claims for goods and services, maintaining centralized billing, collecting accounts receivable, and maintaining the income and disbursement accounts for all programs and funds.
