Homeless Liaisons

NAVIGATION

School districts and charter programs in California are required by law to have a homeless liaison. These experts ensure that children experiencing homelessness have equal access to education by identifying their needs, removing barriers to enrollment and attendance, and connecting them with support services. Each local education agency (LEA) is also required to publish the name and contact information of its liaison online.

Homeless Liaison Contacts

Find contact information for the homeless liaisons serving local school districts and charter school programs, plus community colleges and Sacramento State University.

SCOE lists public school districts within Sacramento County and provides a school district boundaries map to help identify district coverage. A downloadable list of homeless liaisons for all counties in California is also published by the California Department of Education (CDE).

Preschool Programs

Some school districts operate preschool (early childhood education) programs. These programs support qualifying children who are experiencing homelessness.

Early Head Start Programs

Early Head Start programs, which provide early childhood education, health, nutrition, and family support services for children from birth to age 3, are mandated to support qualifying children who are experiencing homelessness.
