School-Based Mental Health and Wellness
The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) partnered with the Sacramento County Department of Health Services in 2020 to begin placing mental health clinicians in every school in Sacramento County. The goal for the School-Based Mental Health and Wellness (SBMHW) program over the next few years is to transform all public schools in the county into “Centers of Wellness” where every adult supports the healthy development and overall well-being of students.
Through this groundbreaking approach, which is now in place at more than 30 sites, there should be no “wrong door” for children, families, and staff to find support.
