The Computer, Network, and Telecommunication Support (CNTS) department provides technology and systems support for the Sacramento County Office of Education staff, students, and teachers. The department also provides a variety of hands-on training opportunities to both SCOE and district staff from the surrounding Sacramento region. Our highly skilled Systems and Networking Engineers are available to provide consulting services to education agencies who need assistance in implementing virtual server or desktop systems, Office 365 support, core infrastructure design and support, cloud-based services, and complex network-related configurations and routing (BGP, OSPF, etc.).
CNTS also administers one of California's largest educational networks for the 13 Sacramento County school districts (BESTNet). This network boasts redundant 100 Gigabit Internet connections to the K–12 High Speed Network and facilitates learning, communication, collaboration, and innovation amongst Sacramento's school districts and the more than 245,000 students we serve. A total of 384 school sites are connected either directly or indirectly to BESTNet.
