Good Day Sacramento Visits ROP Television Occupations Class

SCOE Teacher John Webb Interviewed

Sandra Furlong interviews a student on the set

Students in John Webb's Television Occupations class usually work and learn solely "behind the camera." That changed on January 11 when UPN 31 KMAX reporter Sandra Furlong broadcast her "Good Day Sacramento" segments live from their classroom.

During her visit, Sandra Furlong talked with ROP teacher John Webb and students about how the class—one of many presented through the Sacramento County Regional Occupational Program (ROP)—is preparing students for careers in broadcasting.

The class, which meets daily at the nonprofit Access Sacramento TV studio (located in Sacramento's Coloma Community Center), is one of many career training courses offered by the Sacramento County Regional Occupational Program.

The next session of the Television Occupations class begins January 28. For registration details, call (916) 228-2721.
