In an effort to promote wellness and health awareness, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) hosted a Health and Wellness Fair at the David P. Meaney Education Center on March 31.
The health fair was organized to teach employees how to improve health in all aspects of their lives. The fair's goal was to show what resources are available to assist employees in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
Learning opportunities were be available with education information on nutrition, cancer screening and prevention, blood and organ donation, exercise, dental health, mental health, and a lot more.
Various organizations including Kaiser, MHN, Blue Shield, SIA, Delta Dental, VSP, Fuze, California Family Fitness, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure provided information about healthy living. SCOE employees also took advantage of the opportunity to get free neck massages and derma skin scans. Participants also received information about eating healthy, routine exercise, managing stress, safety and annual wellness exams.
