The 2011 Sacramento County Fair is history and several students participating in Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) programs made history by being big winners in fair competitions this year. Students participating in Regional Occupation Programs (ROP) at SCOE campuses earned 19 prizes at the fair.

"Congratulations to our students who put in long hours and learned a lot in making their projects. I am very proud of them," said Wade Adams, ROP Manufacturing and Metals Instructor.

SCOE provides students the opportunity to actively engage in Career Technical Education, and Regional Occupational Programs. Career Technical Education provides students with the opportunity to explore a career, and learn marketable job skills while preparing for post-secondary education and careers. ROP courses provide standardized curriculum infused with academic coursework in a project based educational setting. Students develop valuable skills in a supportive environment. The shops, kitchens, construction yards, medical and business offices are designed to simulate actual workplace settings.

Some Sacramento ROP courses are taught on a school campus, others are housed in satellite settings.
