Hundreds Attend SCOE-Sponsored Event

On Saturday, March 8, Inderkum High School in Natomas transformed into a history museum as hundreds of Sacramento-area students gathered to present the projects they created for Sacramento County History Day.

With "Rights and Responsibilities in History" as the 2014 theme, students presented exhibits, research papers, documentaries, and websites, plus historical skits. Students who earned honors in Sacramento's competition will be eligible to advance to the NHD—CA State Competition, taking place April 24-27 in Riverside, CA.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) administers Sacramento County History Day, along with the Center for Sacramento History and a team of dedicated volunteers. The local event is associated with National History Day, a year-long educational program that encourages elementary, middle, and high school students to explore history on a local, state, national, and worldwide scale.
