Call it a celebration of education—Sacramento County’s District Teachers of the Year 2017 will be honored when the Sacramento Kings host the Denver Nuggets at the Golden 1 Center on Saturday, March 11. During its annual “Salute to Educators” Night, the Kings will host educators and students from around the region to honor and celebrate their accomplishments.
During the evening, sixteen Sacramento-area educators will be honored at center court by the Kings and the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE). Each teacher will be presented with an award from the Kings. Among the honorees will be Patricia Buckholz, the 2017 SCOE Teacher of the Year.

All public school districts within Sacramento County, local charter schools, plus SCOE, are invited to participate each year in the countywide Sacramento County Teachers of the Year Program. The program is coordinated by SCOE to recognize the achievements of local educators and to raise awareness of the valuable role that teachers play in the lives of their students and in the community.
