Darrien Slider-Johnson has been selected as the new Chief Administrator of Human Resources for the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE).
Slider-Johnson previously served the Berryessa Union School District in San Jose as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Prior to that role, she served as the Director of Human Resources with the Rescue Union School District. She has more than ten years of experience as a school principal and began her career as a teacher in the Monterey Unified School District.
“Darrien has a wealth of leadership experience, and we are delighted to welcome her to our County Office team,” said Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon. “She has a strong background in public education, school administration, and human resources, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of Chief Administrator.”
Slider-Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Chapman University. She holds a Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching credential with an emphasis in bilingual and multicultural education and a Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential.
Slider-Johnson has served on the Association of California School Administrators’ Region Two Equity Achievement and Diversity for student Success committee. SCOE’s new human resources chief has also received several prestigious awards, including the 2018 Dedication and Devotion to Helping Students Achieve Excellence in Education award from the California Association of African American Superintendents, and the 2009 Valuing Diversity Award from the Association of California School Administrators.
Slider-Johnson is replacing Coleen Johnson, who will be retiring in December.
