Sacramento County Coalition for Youth messages—including the “Future Forward” one being shown to fans here—have been featured throughout the Kings playoff games.

Leveraging the excitement of the Sacramento Kings reaching the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2006, the Sacramento County Coalition for Youth is hosting a table at Golden One Arena during each of the playoff games and watch parties. The coalition, which is led by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), wants to spread its message about reducing youth substance use in Sacramento County.

According to Sacramento County data (2017–19 CA Healthy Kids Survey), Sacramento County youth are drinking alcohol too early, too much, and too often. Also of concern is underage marijuana use due to the legalization of recreational marijuana in California.

Campaign messaging has been featured during the games, and public service announcements developed by the coalition have been featured prior to tip-off. The coalition has been able to bring its important message to approximately 16,000 people attending each game.
