The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is proud to celebrate teachers and dedicated education employees, collaborating with local partners to provide the community with opportunities to publicly recognize the best of the best. These efforts also serve as a reminder about the importance of education and how rewarding education careers can be.
This weekend, in partnership with SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, the Sacramento Republic FC helped SCOE celebrate the Teachers of the Year 2025 and 2024 County Classified Employees of the Year at the October 26 matchup against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
SCOE treated the honorees—who represent Sacramento-area school districts and SCOE—and their guests to a pre-game “tailgate party” at Heart Health Park where a catered barbecue with salads, and desserts set the stage for the exciting evening. Honorees then joined Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon for a unique treat: a trip to center circle for individual introductions in front of the enthusiastic crowd of soccer fans while players warmed up. The two 2025 Sacramento County Teachers of the Year, who advanced to the state competition, were also recognized, and all honorees received custom-made plaques courtesy of the Sac Republic. Following the ceremony, the group joined hundreds of fans in the stands to enjoy the match.
“We appreciate the generous support of the Sac Republic in publicly celebrating the top classified staff from across the county, alongside the teachers they support,” said CSEA Chapter 480 President Wendi Beatty, who represents SCOE’s classified staff. “Events like this remind people how education shaped their lives and how critical these dedicated, skilled, and passionate staff are to supporting future generations.”
