The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is proud to champion student engagement in the Arts. To celebrate and highlight the importance of creativity in education, SCOE presents a vibrant wall calendar showcasing fresh and inspiring student artwork on every page.
February features pencil line artwork with a focus on Black History Month. The student artist, from El Centro Jr./Sr. High School, used pencil on paper with detailed shading to depict the faces of four historical figures. Leo A. Palmiter Jr./Sr. High School’s student artist, highlighted in March, painted a vivid watercolor on parchment of two rabbits surrounded by foliage and flowers. Subsequent months include a delightful array of artistry.
“The Arts are a powerful way for individuals to communicate their ideas and feelings. In our SCOE classrooms, in addition to being a form of expression and an act of problem-solving, the Arts allow students to explore cultures and ideas beyond the confines of their classroom,” said Assistant Superintendent Jackie White. “Our goal at SCOE is to ensure the Arts for Any Given Child, every day, in every classroom in Sacramento County.”
Student Expressions 2025 is a full-color (9" × 12") calendar with 12 unique pieces of art created by students from SCOE’s Foundations Academy, Early Head Start, Juvenile Court School, and Community School programs throughout the county. The calendar is available for purchase at $8 per calendar plus $2 shipping. Checks should be made payable to SCOE and mailed to:
