Dynamic Spring 2025 Institute to Sharpen Counselor Skills

Two-Day Conference to Help “Connect, Advocate, Relate, and Educate”

The theme for the two-day conference is “C.A.R.E.: The Counselor’s Compass,” helping professionals chart a course toward a community where counseling transforms lives and inspires limitless possibilities for students.

School counselors play a vital role in enhancing every student’s academic success, college and career readiness, and social/emotional development. Continuing education opportunities ensure these critical school staff stay informed about the latest techniques, mental health trends, and best practices for promoting student well-being. This spring, counselors and support professionals across Northern California are encouraged to attend the premiere event for counselors: the April 2025 Counselor Spring Institute.

Offered by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) in partnership with California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), more than 300 PK–14 counselors are expected to attend. The theme for the third annual institute—C.A.R.E.: The Counselor’s Compass—is designed to be a navigational tool for counselors, pointing to a “true north” for the profession. Attendees will:

  • Connect to foster unity in the profession
  • Advocate for students
  • Relate to one another for support
  • Educate to continuously develop skills

Just like a compass points the way, the elements of the C.A.R.E. theme help professionals chart a course toward a community where counseling transforms lives and inspires limitless possibilities for students.
