The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) released a statement earlier this year reaffirming its commitment to maintaining learning environments where all students, families, and clients feel valued, welcome, and safe—regardless of identity, background, or immigration status. SCOE offers a collection of helpful links to immigration-related resources and information on its website.
Information Session
SCOE will be hosting an information session for students, families, and schools on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 (6–7:30 p.m.). Participants will learn important information related to immigration issues impacting schools and the community.
- Participate in Zoom webinar—use any name you’d like for Zoom (log out first if you have a Zoom account)
Audience questions via chat will be relayed to the presenters. Presentations can be automatically translated into multiple languages, including Persian, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. (Instructions below.)
Local experts presenting at the webinar include:
- Guadalupe Delgado (SCOE Cal-SOAP Director)—information about college financial aid opportunities
- Giselle Garcia (NorCal Resist/UC Davis Aoki Fellow)—guidance for students and families identifying and responding to immigration enforcement
- Blake Nordahl (McGeorge Immigration Law Clinic Supervising Attorney)—potential pathways to legal status for students and families
