CSU Expository Reading and Writing Course

It is fully aligned with California Content Standards for English language arts and literacy.
The course:

- Emphasizes in-depth study of expository, analytical, and argumentative writing
- Prepares for effective reading and writing of academic prose
- Includes an assignment template for improving expository reading and writing across the curriculum
Grade Levels
High School
Courses for 11th- and 12th-grade teachers have been approved by the University of California as meeting the English (subject "B") component of the "A–G" requirements. Modules are also available for grades 9–10 (four modules for each grade level). Participation is open to high school English language arts teachers. Counselors and administrators are also welcome to attend.
Middle School
The Expository Reading and Writing Course is also available for middle school English teachers as an eighteen-hour professional learning series. The middle school ERWC follows the same structure as the high school course. There are four modules for 7th grade and four modules for 8th grade.
