Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) employees celebrated their artistic talents at an art show and reception on October 7. The 7th annual event, held at SCOE's administration building, featured multi-dimensional art created around the theme "Color My World."

Twenty-six artists participated in the show, representing 17 SCOE departments from 11 different sites. A total of 59 pieces of art are on display this year, include paintings, ceramics, photographs, and illustrations.

The display is open weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at SCOE's David P. Meaney Education Center through November 2014.

The employee art show was organized by the SCOE Communications Office staff. The event is part of "ARTober," a month-long celebration of the arts in Sacramento that shines a spotlight on the talent and creativity of artists throughout the region.

As part of National Art & Humanities Month, the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sacramento365.com, For Arts Sake, and dozens of local arts organizations collaborate to bring attention to more than 150 art events taking place in the Sacramento region during the month of October.
